A second chocolate chip cookie recipe from the family notebook — this one yields a slightly different texture with a touch more flour and a full two teaspoons of vanilla. Grandma kept both versions because each had its fans at family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2¾ cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup nuts (optional)
- 11 oz bag chocolate chips
Instructions
- Cream softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and stir until combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto baking sheets.
- Bake at 375°F for 9–11 minutes until golden.
