This is one of those recipes that fed the whole family and then some. Pulled straight from the family recipe notebook, this large-batch sweet and sour meatball recipe was always a crowd favorite at potlucks and holiday gatherings.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, diced green pepper, and eggs. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  2. Brown the meatballs in a skillet over medium-high heat until golden on all sides.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the pineapple (with juice), vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, corn starch, and cold water until smooth.
  4. Place browned meatballs in a baking dish and pour the sauce evenly over the top.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and the meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Serve over a bed of steamed rice.
