Pulled from the family recipe notebook, this one is pure nostalgia. Grandma's Fruity Jello and Cream was the kind of dessert that showed up at every potluck and disappeared before anything else on the table.
Ingredients
- Frozen strawberries (thawed, juice reserved)
- Crushed pineapple (about 2 cups, juice reserved)
- 1 large box Jello (strawberry or flavor of choice)
- Ice cubes
- Whipping cream (whipped and sugared)
Instructions
- Thaw strawberries and drain pineapple, reserving all juices.
- Combine juices—not quite 2 cups.
- Bring juice to a boil.
- Stir in Jello until dissolved.
- Add ice cubes to cool.
- Fold in fruit and whipped cream.
- Chill until set.
